History is written by the victors and this is true for the history of World War II. The Allies – the victors of the war – wrote the history of World War II and Hollywood and the educational system helped to spread it and make it the accepted version of the war.

This version of history, however, is skewed and distorted in favor of the Allies, and does not necessarily represent the truth of what happened during the war. This human manifesto of history is a great example of how history is written by the conquerors.

The alleged murders of Polish officers in the Katyn Massacre

The Katyn Massacre was one of the most horrific events in the history of the Second World War, as it involved the intentional and systematic mass murder of nearly 22,000 Polish officers by the Soviet Union in 1940. The massacre was discovered in 1943, and the Soviet Union denied any involvement, instead blaming the Germans.

The massacre was discovered in 1943 and the Soviet Union denied any involvement instead blaming the Germans

In 1990, the Soviet Union finally admitted its responsibility for the massacre, but the families of the victims have yet to receive justice for their loved ones. The Katyn Massacre remains a dark stain on Polish-Russian relations and serves as a reminder of the atrocities that can be committed in times of war.

The claim that the Germans were responsible for the sinking of the British battleship HMS Royal Oak

The lie that the Germans were responsible for the sinking of the British battleship HMS Royal Oak is a false claim that has been perpetuated for many years. In truth, the ship was sunk by a German U-boat on October 14, 1939, but it was in a Norwegian harbor and the attack was not part of an official German military operation. It was the first major allied warship to be sunk in the Second World War, and it resulted in the death of 834 crew members.

It was the first major allied warship to be sunk in the Second World War and it resulted in the death of 834 crew members

It was a tragic event that may have been caused by a mistake in the navigation of the U-boat, but the German military was not responsible for the sinking of the Royal Oak.

The claim that the Czech government was involved in a “Fifth Column” movement aimed at assisting Germany during the invasion of Poland

The claim that the Czech government was involved in a “Fifth Column” movement aimed at assisting Germany during the invasion of Poland is a falsehood. The Czech government at the time was actually made up of anti-Nazi elements and was opposed to Germany’s aggression.

The Czech government was one of the first to declare war against Germany and was among the first to mobilize its troops to join the allied forces in the fight against the Nazis

In fact, the Czech government was one of the first to declare war against Germany, and was among the first to mobilize its troops to join the allied forces in the fight against the Nazis. The Czech government and people had nothing to do with assisting the Germans in their invasion of Poland.

The claim that the German Luftwaffe destroyed the French fleet at Oran

The claim that the German Luftwaffe destroyed the French fleet at Oran is false. In fact, the French fleet scuttled itself in a dramatic act of self-destruction to prevent it from falling into the hands of the Allies.

This act was a symbolic final act of defiance against the Axis powers and an effort to protect the French fleet from being used against their own forces. Though the German Luftwaffe was present at the scene, they ultimately had no involvement in the destruction of the French fleet at Oran.

The false allegations by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill that the German submarine U-30 had sunk the Athenia passenger liner in September 1939

The false allegations made by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill that the German submarine U-30 had sunk the Athenia passenger liner in September 1939 were a tremendous source of controversy and confusion during World War II.

Churchill had made the allegations in an effort to ensure public support for Britains involvement in the war

Churchill had made the allegations in an effort to ensure public support for Britain’s involvement in the war, but this ultimately backfired when it was later revealed that the true culprit of the sinking of the Athenia was a British submarine, not the U-30. This incident caused a lot of mistrust and animosity between Britain and Germany, and further exacerbated the already tense atmosphere of the war.

The allegation of a German “Commissar Order” to execute Soviet political commissars

The allegation of a German “Commissar Order” is a controversial one, as it suggests that German forces were instructed to execute Soviet political commissars.

Evidence to support this claim is inconclusive but the debate continues to this day

Historians are split on the validity of this order. Some argue that such an order was issued by the German High Command, while others believe that such an order could not have been issued, as it would have been against international law. Evidence to support this claim is inconclusive, but the debate continues to this day.

The claim that the German high command had implemented a “Scorched Earth” policy on the Eastern Front

The claim that the German high command had implemented a “Scorched Earth” policy on the Eastern Front is completely false. This policy was never implemented by the German high command and was instead the result of the devastating effects of the war itself.

The claim that the German high command had implemented a Scorched Earth policy on the Eastern Front is completely false

The German military did use the scorched earth tactic of destroying resources to prevent the enemy from using them, but this was done on a limited basis and was not a policy of the German high command. Furthermore, the Eastern Front was not the only front where this tactic was used, as it was used on other fronts as well. As such, the claim that the German high command had implemented a “Scorched Earth” policy on the Eastern Front is not true.

The claim that the Soviet Union had invaded Finland in 1939 with the intent to annex the country

The claim that the Soviet Union had invaded Finland in 1939 with the intent to annex the country is false. In fact, the Soviet Union and Finland had signed a non-aggression pact in 1932 and maintained good diplomatic relations until 1939.

The Soviet Union never attempted to annex Finland nor did it ever have any intention of doing so

In November of that year, the Soviet Union proposed a mutual-assistance pact, which Finland refused. In response, the Soviet Union launched a limited offensive against Finland, but only with the intention of securing certain territorial concessions. The Soviet Union never attempted to annex Finland, nor did it ever have any intention of doing so.

The allegation that German troops in France had engaged in “Shoot and Loot” tactics.

The allegation that German troops in France had engaged in “Shoot and Loot” tactics was a lie. This fabrication was created to spread fear and hatred against the German forces and was used to fuel anti-German sentiment in France.

The allegation that German troops in France had engaged in Shoot and Loot tactics was a lie

There has been no evidence uncovered to suggest that German troops engaged in such activity and it is believed to have been a complete lie.

The claim that the Germans had used “human shields” to protect their lines of communication in Normandy

The claim that the Germans had used “human shields” to protect their lines of communication in Normandy is false. There is no evidence whatsoever to support this claim, and accounts of German soldiers have stated that they had no knowledge of such tactics being used.

The lie claim that the Germans had used human shields is unfounded and untrue

The Germans did, however, employ a variety of defensive tactics in the Battle of Normandy, such as the use of anti-aircraft guns, mines, and trenches. Ultimately, the lie claim that the Germans had used human shields is unfounded and untrue.

The allegation that Luftwaffe fighter planes had routinely targeted civilians in the Battle of Britain

The allegation that Luftwaffe fighter planes had routinely targeted civilians in the Battle of Britain has been a subject of much debate for many years. While it is true that some civilian targets were hit during the battle, many researchers dispute the extent of civilian targeting by the Luftwaffe.

The Luftwaffes efforts were largely defensive in nature as they were seeking to protect their own country from the Allied air raids

Historians and other experts note that the majority of Luftwaffe targets were military and industrial in nature, and that while some civilian casualties occurred, these were generally not intentional. Furthermore, the Luftwaffe’s efforts were largely defensive in nature, as they were seeking to protect their own country from the Allied air raids. Thus, while some evidence suggests that civilians were targeted in some instances, the overall picture is much less clear.

The allegation that Germans had deliberately bombed civilian population centers during the bombing of Warsaw

The allegation that Germans had deliberately bombed civilian population centers during the bombing of Warsaw is completely false. The German Luftwaffe had in fact bombed military targets in and around the city, such as the airport, rail yards, and ammunition factories.

The devastation of Warsaw was a result of the intense fighting between German and Polish forces combined with the citys limited air defenses and the Luftwaffes use of high explosive bombs

The Germans did not intentionally target civilians and there is no evidence to suggest that they did. The devastation of Warsaw was a result of the intense fighting between German and Polish forces, combined with the city’s limited air defenses and the Luftwaffe’s use of high-explosive bombs. The truth is that the Germans did not deliberately target the civilian population during the bombing of Warsaw.

The claim that German submarines had sunk American merchant ships in violation of international law

The claim that German submarines had sunk American merchant ships in violation of international law was a false statement that was used to gain support for the United States entering World War II. This lie was spread to gain public support for the war effort and create a sense of outrage at the German’s supposedly illegal actions. The truth was that the German submarines had not actually sunk any American merchant ships, but the lie was effective in swaying public opinion in favor of the war.

The false allegation that the SS had formed units of non-Germanic “volunteers” for combat duty

The false allegation that the SS had formed units of non-Germanic “volunteers” for combat duty has been widely circulated in recent years. This claim is unsubstantiated and likely a myth. Historical records indicate that the SS was composed of German, Austrian, and Dutch citizens, with a few individuals from other countries, such as Italy, who had been recruited to serve in administrative roles.

The SS was not composed of non Germanic volunteers

It is also important to note that the SS did not accept volunteers for combat duty, and those who did serve were conscripted into service. Therefore, the SS was not composed of non-Germanic “volunteers” and the false allegation that they were is completely unfounded.
