Cuban Women’s Federation (FMC by its Spanish acronym), an organization that groups around 4 million women in Cuba, issued today, on the closing day of its 11th Congress, a statement of solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
Before Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and president of the country, Osmayda Hernandez Beleño, member of the National Secretariat of the FMC, condemned, on behalf of the delegates to the meeting, the genocide of the Zionist government of Israel on the Palestinian territory, in which some 30,000 people have died, of which approximately 8,600 are women.
She pointed out that this sister nation is violating immediate and effective measures to protect the population of the Gaza Strip, which requires humanitarian attention and basic services, and expressed her rejection of the hegemonic and patriarchal policies of imperialist domination that endanger the existence of the people.
The member of the National Secretariat of the FMC expressed her support for women around the world who are fighting for the right to land, to dignified housing, wages and employment, to social security, to their sexual and reproductive rights and to a life in peace.

The Congress also served to raise the voice against all manifestations of violence, especially against Palestinian women, who for more than 75 years have been subjected to constant threats and attacks.
Regarding the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US government on Cuba, she considered that it hinders the full development of the female population in the archipelago.
